December 2009	Passport Health Plan has been ranked in the Top 25 Medicaid Health Insurance Plans in America by U.S.News & World Report for the past five years. Our current ranking is #13.
November 2008	US News and World Report, in conjunction with the National Committee for Quality Assurance ranked Passport Health Plan as the 9th best Medicaid Health Plan in the United States and in the top 25 for the fourth year in a row.
November 2007	US News and World Report, in conjunction with the National Committee for Quality Assurance ranked Passport Health Plan as the 11th best Medicaid Health Plan in the United States and in the top 25 for the third year in a row.
August 2007	University Health Care, Inc. dba Passport Health Plan announced today the grant recipients for the organizations Improved Health Outcomes Program (IHOP). Grants of $50,000 each were awarded to the following organizations: Family Health Centers and the Center for Health Equity University of Louisville's School of Nursing Children and Youth Project University of Louisvilles Departments of Family and Geriatric Medicine University of Louisville Hospital Newborn Nursery
March 2007	Joyce Hagen, President of Passport Health Plan will received the Community Health Leadership Award by Community Health Charities.
January 2007	Passport Health Plan includes 140,000 members and Passport Advantage include 10,000 members.
November 2006	Passport assumes responsibility for drugs for Behavioral Health illnesses.
October 2006	US News and World Report in conjunction with the National Committee for Quality Assurance ranked Passport Health Plan as one of the top 25 of America's Best Health Plans for the second year in a row
May 2006	Passport Health Plan's Culture and Linguistics program is awarded the Mayor's International Award in recognition of our commitment to Metro Louisville Multicultural Community.
January 2006	Passport Advantage our Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plan, is officially implemented. The following Programs are implemented as a result: Diabetes Disease Management, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease COPD Management, Coronary Artery Disease Management, and the Behaviorial Health Care Coordination Program.
October 2005	Passport Health Plan is awarded contract as Passport Advantage to become a Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plan.
October 2005	Passport Health Plan is awarded an Excellent National Committee Assurance Accreditation, the highest level possible.
October 2005	U S News & World Report and the National Committee for Quality Assurance ranks Passport Health Plan #18 of America's best Medicaid health plans.
July 2005	Passport Health Plan applies to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to become a Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plan to serve its members who are aged, blind, and disabled eligible for Medicaid and Medicare. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services approves a waiver renewal for three years to Passport Health Plan The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Waivwer Proposal prepared by the Department for Medicaid Services, Commonwealth of Kentucky reports that Passport Health Plan has successfully saved the Commonweath over $191.2 million since its inception in 1997.
May 2005 March 2005	Passport Health Plan's Culture and Linguistics program offers its first major conference A new report, Innovations in Medicaid Managed Care, released by America's Health Insurance Plans of Washington, DC shows how Passport Health Plan is successfully serving Medicaid beneficiaries by achieving improvements in health care while offering a return on investment for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
September 2004	Passport Health Plan offers Medicaid prescription drug information online to make it easier for health care providers to access Passport Health Plan Formulary.
June 2004	Passport Health Plan and the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resource and Services Administration offers Achieving Cultural and Linguistic Competency in Healthcare Conference.
June 2004	Passport Health Plan selects AmeriHealth Mercy/PerformRx to provide pharmacy care management services.
December 2003	Passport Health Plan demonstrates $110 million in cost savings for the Commonwealth of Kentucky as reported by Milliman USA, Consultants and Actuaries.
September 2003 January 2003	Plan enrollment - 140,626 Passport Health Plan implements the Culture and Linguistics Program.
November 2002	Passport Health Plan is awarded an Excellent National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Accreditation, the highest level possible.
January 2002	Passport Health Plan demonstrates $92.4 million in cost savings for the Commonwealth of Kentucky as reported by Milliman USA, Consultants and Actuaries.
April 2001	Plan Enrollment 120,000
January 2001	Passport Health Plan reports that actual costs fell below the State's estimates for non-managed care in the region accounting for accumulated savings of $61 million over the three years of operation.

November 1997 - March 1998	The initial phased enrollment process of approximately 100,000 members
September 1997	A three-party contract was executed with the Commonwealth.
January 1997	UHC obtained an HMO license.
December 1996	AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan (AMHP) was selected by UHC as administrator for the program.
September 1996	In response to the Commonwealth's request, the Region 3 Medicaid Managed Care Partnership and University Health Care, Inc. (UHC) were created.
October 1995	The Commonwealth obtained a Section 1115 Medicaid Waiver to develop eight regional Medicaid Managed Care Partnerships. The two state medical schools at the University of Louisville (U of L) and the University of Kentucky (UK) were asked to provide leadership in the development of these partnerships.
